Today in the Kitchen… The Cat’s Out of the Bag.

…and on the shelves apparently by the screaming phone calls and emails coming in!
It’s not that I wasn’t “allowed” to say anything it’s that I didn’t quite know how and I wanted to wait ’til I had my OWN copy… which I STILL don’t…
But guess what?
I figured out there is only one way to say it… here goes…
OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!
OH MY GOSH!OH MY GOSH!
AMÉLIE AND I MADE THE COVER OF
WHERE WOMEN COOK!

Being in Artful Blogger a few months ago was INCREDIBLE.  Then to make the cover in print was… wow!  Remember this past spring, “Parisienne Farmgirl, A City Girl with a Farmer’s Heart Page 66.”
But really, this is just so darling.  To share this with my daughter… to be able to see my photographs…. to see that hilarious photo we took while making dinner after cutting our Christmas tree  (Look at the wine all over the counter top!  HA!  Ok, Half was for a reduction and half was for consumption!…I didn’t know I was expecting yet:))… to be able to write about my Mom, Grandma and Great Gramma… to see recipes of mine published…
UNREAL!

Working with Jo Packham (the editor) has been sheer PLEASURE!  She is just a delight and there is not one ounce of pretense in the way she runs this magazine.  I would work with her, do anything for her publications again in a heartbeat!

I hope to have a big stack of these to offer you if you’d like one by the end of next week.  In the meantime, the summer edition of Where Women Cook “Featuring The Parisienne Farmgirl” is available is available at Barnes and Noble and other bookstores.  It is a lovely magazine, lush photos and great stories.  It is NOT just another cooking/recipe magazine. This publication is about the heart of the home.

Now… I find myself motivated, affirmed and inspired and find myself dreaming about writing my own cookbook… I have so many ideas… (I PROMISE I will finish the Paris book I have been yakking about for the last two years!)

I hope you enjoy it!
I can’t wait to get my own copy!!!

I am SO happy and excited for you, Ang! I already own the previous 2 issues of “Where Women Cook”, gifts from my CSA owner, and was VERY impressed. Jo Packham made a wise choice in having you not only featured in her magazine but on the cover. I have read, and re-read your article several times already…the 1st time right in the aisles of Meijer…tears of joy trickling down my face. Stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and you will continue to become more and more like the Proverbs 31 woman. I am blessed to call you my friend.
    Love,
    Cindy

What a true testiment to the heart and soul of the home with mother and daughter in the kitchen whipping up something delicious to eat! Such a wonderful momento of your special time with Amélie. Only three and already a “portfolio:)”

    Congratulation, Angela, you deserve this.

That is wonderful and much deserved! I just recently discovered your site from the Artful Blogging article and have been pouring over your postings. I am charmed by Aidan’s & Amelie’s conversations and also long for a clawfoot tub, out-of-doors in the sunshine — and your *rants* speak to my heart (really loved “I’ve never met a real one”). But it was your pot roast and red onion sauce that made me a follower…mon dieu!

And yes, it is just icing that Amelie made the cover, too.

    THE COVER!!!!!!
I mean, it’s an honor to have your photos published like mine have been, but to actually be the subject of the article and on the freakin’ cover….you are a STAR!!!

    So very proud. 🙂

Why oh why can’t we get magazines such as these in Australia? There are recipe magazines by the dozen and tonnes of trashy celebrity mags – and to be fair some newsagents do carry some classier British and American Country Living magazines including Victoria and Romantic Homes(costs $10-15!) but I have never heard of this publication – you are so blessed to have such gorgeous magazines but to be on the front cover with your sweet daughter – wow Ang! And as you say in a magazine that is not just about cooking but indeed about the very room in the home where you nourish and nurture your family. May this be a sweet and enduring reminder of the memories you created for them in the heart of your home.
Time to go and find out if it ships down under!

Hi Angela! A couple of weeks ago I was on Stampinton’s website to see who will be featured in the upcoming issue of “Where Women Cook”. I have a subscription to this awesome publication and was so excited when I saw that you are featured on the cover. The June/July/August issue has been in stores for several days now and I am a little bummed that I still don’t have mine. Hopefully, it will arrive in tomorrow’s mail. Congratulations on being featured in another outstanding publication. I can hardly wait to read the feature covering you. I am one of your biggest fans! God bless and have a wonderful week.
