Mon Trumeau est Fini!

In response to Amanda’s question: A Trumeau is a mirror with a scene and/or wood carving above it typically found in the Provence area of France and typically set right into the wood paneling or “boiserie” of a home. I LOVE boiserie and I love trumeaux (plural) even more!

Well I did it! I found this Trumeau on ebay, it was estimated to sell between $8,000-$12,000. It is from an estate in France. Can you tell which one I made and which one is the French one? For details visit the Farmhouse.

Quite frankly, I thought yours was the oval. I mean it. Beautiful job! How did the piece originally come, or did you create it from scratch? And how big is it? And what is a “Trumeau”?

Don’t even know what a “Trumeau” is…but, I could never tell which was which, except that I felt that the oval was yours because it was prettier to me. I have no idea though…nice work either way.
