Let me Tell You About my Friend Faith…

STUPID BLOGGER IS HAVING PHOTO PROBLEMS!!! I have great photos of Faith and will repost tomorrow…

I have had the honor of being Faith’s friend since she was eight years old and I was nine. Considering she is celebrating her 30th Birthday today…well, I have loved her for a long time.
Describing a gem is difficult. Adjectives sound trite and unimaginative…”beautiful”, “shining”, “brilliant”, “rare.” You don’t describe the precious jewels on your hand. You wear them with pride. It has been twenty-two years that I have been proud to be Faith’s friend.
It has been twelve that we have been separated by two-hundred miles. I have missed her the entire time. My life is lacking because Faith is not with me on my morning walks, having coffee at my kitchen counter after a morning of garage saleing and too many glasses of wine on a Friday night. There are few who can shriek with laughter like Faith can, few who can love as deeply as she does.
To be Faith’s friend is an amazing thing. Her affection knows no bounds. Upon sight of my son for the first time as he slept in his carseat in her bank parking lot – she simply cried.
I don’t imagine that Faith’s life has gone as she had planned or hoped but she is careful in her decisions and lives with a patience and courage that quite frankly- I could not. She is facing a long road with her son this summer…a childhood bone problem and I know that your prayers will be a blessing for her and her family. In my opinion she has been through enough.
But Faith has never abandoned her namesake. Faith. Even in our rebellious teenage years she had her (our) faith. Our God promises parents to train up children in the way they should go…when they are old they shall not depart from it. Faith, you prove our faith daily.
I love you so much. I miss you so much. I wish we were going out for one glass of wine too many tonight. I love you so much. I love you so much. I love you so much.
Happy Birthday Faith.

My heart is so touched by your loving words. Thank you for a perfect end to a lovely 30th birthday, beautiful tears of joy at a friend’s loving thoughts of you. My life is better simply for knowing you. I hold you so dear to my heart and always will. I wish I could have celebrated with you as well. (I am right at this moment, 200 miles aside). Thank you. I love you, I love you, I love you.
