What is wrong with all of us? Surely we would all be so much better off if we took the advice of radical homosexuals…like I mentioned a few days ago, Rosie thinks you can hug a terrorist into diplomacy and now, well…Elton John wants to ban religion.

Pick yourself up off the floor and stop laughing for a moment.

Ban all religion? Is he stark, raving mad?

“Organized religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.”

(First let me interject that the expression “organized religion” is used by people to further push the “everything is relative” way of living. By “banning” organized religion the “all roads lead to God, what’s wrong for you may not be wrong for me” way of life is promoted and no one can call anyone to the carpet because, “Hey, to each his own.” … Scary.)

I don’t get it. I do not personally know ANY Christians who hate gay people and I know a lot of Christians. Believing that what someone does with their body is wrong is NOT the same as hating. Speaking out in the culture war is NOT hate.

Isn’t wanting to ban all (organized) religions pretty hateful?

It seems pretty “hateful” to put how people feel, believe or their opinions about what you do in your bedroom over all the good that “organized religion” does. I mean, let’s wipe out all the millions of people helped by Christian charity, let’s close all the church food pantries, let’s close the orphanages funded by churches, the mission groups that take care of and visit the elderly, let’s shut down the crisis pregnancy centers that are run by churches, and well, many of the AA and 12 step groups will have to find new places to meet.
Let’s outlaw people’s lives being genuinely turned around by having a real encounter with a loving God. Yes, definitely putting a stop to all of that would be worth it just so long as we can stop people from being “hateful lemmings.”

Like I said, believe something is wrong is NOT the same as hating.

Now, there are some religions (Islam) out there that hate gays. Why doesn’t anybody have the balls to focus on shutting them down?

I am just getting really tired of people whining about their sexual orientation. I have had so much of it shoved at me lately that I find it amazing to believe that we (religious people) are still the ones being labeled as hateful. Just because I think something is wrong does not make me hateful. Gay people (one in particular) thinks I am wrong…why doesn’t that make HIM hateful??? Oh- I forgot, because he can’t help being gay, well guess what?

I can’t help being a Christian.

Dramatically speaking, no I can’t. I can not help but respond to the love God showed for me in sending his Son. I can’t help but love Him for loving me first, someone so unloveable as I.
And I can’t help but see the pain and desperation in the life of a gay person, “Love me, love me, love me, accept me, accept me or have nothing to do with me.”

I have patterns of sin in my life, sinful ways I was “born” (like homosexuals say they are “born gay”) I am horribly self-centered, I am manipulative, I want attention, but the love of Christ changes me every day. The love of Christ has helped homosexuals leave the lifestyle, go on to marry and have children… There are “former gays” …do you think you ever hear about them?

No way. That would ruin everything. People think conservatives or Christians are nuts when they talk about a “homosexual agenda” but that is what it is and Elton John is proving it. There is an “agenda” out there to wipe out ALL opposition to their lifestyle. If they can silence the moral opposition…well, I guess they think they will sleep better at night. I guess the life of a gay person will be so much better when every person on the planet approves of their lifestyle. And like I said, the homeless, the orphans, the hungry and hurting, drug addicts and the every day sinners like me who need God, be damned. Just so long as Elton feels approved of.

I grieve for those (gay or straight) who do not understand that approval is not what they are looking for. It is for the Father’s love that they search. A Father who designed them to be healthy and whole. A Father who loves them enough to give his Son to die for them. The whole world’s approval will never be enough, for this is the love that they (and we all) truly crave.
