Love, love, love upper Midwest lakes! I was privileged enough to grow up spending summers on a private lake at my grandparent's cottage in Michigan. The cottage has long been sold...and us grandchildren have been scattered like seeds carried by the wind across the country...so unfortunately, my own kiddos don't know such lake vacations. (We do take them to the ocean once a year.) No better experience than an icy cold lake on a hot summer day!!! We don't have "real" lakes here in Kansas...
